HYSTER ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL VALUE-ADDED FEATURES ON
THE FORTENS RANGE
HYSTER is pleased to announce the introduction
on the Fortens™ H2.0-3.5FT of oil immersed brakes and the only powershift
transmission available in the market with extended function.
Oil immersed brakes are now available as an option, with the DuraMatchTM
transmission on both the Advance & Advance+ models. The new extended
function 2-speed transmission – “DuraMatchTM Plus2”
- is available on Advance+ models, and includes oil-immersed brakes as
standard.
The availability of oil immersed brakes and the extended function transmission
provides maximum option availability to ensure Fortens trucks can meet
and exceed customer demands and exactly match specific customer applications...more

Oil Immersed Brakes
Also frequently referred to as “Wet-Disk Brakes”, oil immersed
brakes are contained within a sealed unit. This provides a number of benefits
to the operator, for example, a lower brake pedal effort, combined with
more consistent braking over the life of the truck. This is because the
sealed unit that houses the brakes prevents contaminants entering the
brake system, which would result in a loss of braking performance.
This sealed unit makes the Fortens Advance & Advance+ models ideally
suited to applications in wet, dirty or corrosive environments, such as
foundry operations, operations around salt water or other corrosive agents.
Furthermore, minimum maintenance is required during the lifetime of the
truck. Unplanned maintenance is eliminated and scheduled periodic maintenance,
including oil changes, is only required every 2000 hours, resulting in
a reduction of maintenance costs and increased uptime.
Finally, the sealed unit eliminates the risk of brake line damage, with
the lines protected from debris, resulting in improved reliability and
uptime as a result of reduction in wear and maintenance requirements.

Two Speed DuraMatchTM Plus2 - Extended Function Transmission
The DuraMatchTM Plus2 is unique in the industry, as it is the only powershift
transmission available on the market to offer extended functionality,
and so ensures that the highest levels of performance are sustained throughout
multiple shift operations.
In addition to the now familiar features found on the DuraMatchTM transmission,
the DuraMatchTM Plus2 offers the following:
Auto-Speed Hydraulics with Automatic Inching Control
the engine speed is automatically increased, independent of driver action,
to provide full hydraulic power to the hoist function, while travel speed
remains constant.
Throttle Response Management allows the operator to manage
his travel speed, according to the position of his foot on the accelerator
pedal. For example, a certain speed can be maintained on a gradient, without
the need to depress the pedal further.
Extended Auto Deceleration System as with the DuraMatchTM
allows the operator to slow the truck down without using the brake. However,
thanks to the Throttle Response Management feature, the rate of deceleration
is dependant on the rate at which the driver releases his foot from the
accelerator pedal. On this model, the ADS is not adjustable through the
dash display.
First Gear offers Increased Drawbar Pull
for use on gradients Second Gear provides maximum engine
efficiency in applications where longer travel distances are common.
These features allow for decreased cycle times, increased productivity
and exceptional performance in the most intensive and heavy duty applications.
The DuraMatchTM Plus2 transmission is only available with oil immersed
brakes and with the 3.3L Yanmar diesel or the 2.4L GM LPG engine options.
The DuraMatchTM Plus2 transmission is available with either the fingertip
controlled TouchPointTM e- hydraulic mini-levers and the TouchControlTM
joystick.
Cowl mounted levers are not available with this transmission option.
