Craigavon, Northern Ireland Area: 35, 999.9 sq m
Construction of this plant began in 1979 on a Greenfield site just outside Belfast. The Craigavon manufacturing facility was designed around a philosophy of high volume, low cost, high quality and on time delivery. It has grown as the European centre for the development and manufacturing of 1.6 to 5.5 tonne internal combustion engine pneumatic tyred forklift trucks and today is the source of the HYSTER Fortens H1.6-2.0FTS, H2.0-3.5FT & H4.0-5.5FT series products. From 1996, following an investment of $1.125 million the plant piloted the European implementation of Demand Flow Technology. In addition to ISO 9002 & 14001 accreditation, Craigavon is particularly noteworthy for the number of awards it has received including INVESTOR IN PEOPLE, NORTHERN IRELAND QUALITY AWARD WINNER and IDEAS UK.
