HYSTER strives to be forward looking and anticipate our customers’ future needs: we place a strong emphasis on Research and Development. * $ 130 million have been invested by NMHG in this area over the past 4 years.

New products are designed and tested by more than 200 engineers with the latest CAD-CAM technology and product requirements are defined with help of extensive user research and ergonomics specialists. To ensure the well-known HYSTER quality and reliability, prototypes are always tested on a unique and comprehensive test facility at Portland Technical centre in the USA. In addition to industry’s largest test facility in Portland, the group has recently established more product development centres alongside manufacturing facilities in Italy, UK and the Netherlands.
